Hi everyone!

Its been far too long since I came back here and there are lot of new people to get to know.

I just wanted to share my news with everyone that was so supportive of me when I was going through such a terrible time that hubby and I (well, me really) are having a baby!!

I have been terrified of how things may go with taking the medication but I have been checking in with the IBD clinic regularly and so far just a bit of sickness and heartburn but ok.  Had a few stomach cramps on Friday night and was a bit worried - not sure how I;m supposed to tell the difference between bowel cramps and otherwise but these felt like the ones I have had before.

Going to take the time to read past posts on this but will try and get here as much as I can as I think I might need some help as the months go by!  :-)

Hello!!
I'm fairly new to this forum  (but just LOVE it here!).   Wanted to say HI, and congrats on the pregnancy!  I am past that point in my life,  but I thought I had heard that being pregnant calms IBD symptoms down more?  So maybe the cramps you feel were just normal ones that people without IBD have?  I know tho,  that sometimes I will have a cramp, and it's initially hard to tell if its a flare starting or just a normal cramp.   But it always makes me so nervous to the point I will say outloud..."OHHHH NOOOO!?!"         Hope things stay calm for ya!!!

Hi Evie,

I am pretty new here, I joined a couple of days ago, it is a great forum.  Congratulations!  I know it is scary being pregnant with UC, I have done it twice.  Last pregnancy I was on Asacol 2 pills 3x a day and that's all.  I even got a sigmoidoscopy while pregnant.  Some people go into remission during pregnancy, unfortunatley I wasn't one of them, but I wasn't that bad.  With both pregnancies I had a lot of constipation, and I would get so backed up that after a big meal, I would get very ill from both ends.  Not good.  Try to stay regular.  Both my babies were very low, (I wonder if that was from the colon spasms and the pushing the bms or just a coincidence?)  I carried both to full term, actually I was induced with the 1st one, 2nd came right on time.  They are both healthy boys!  The last few months were very tough, all that pressure on the organs was tough.  I had heartburn the entire last month and had to sleep upright the whole time, although I think that could happen to anybody.  I hope you can go into remission and stay in it!  If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Adrienne

Eve,

You know it's a good sign when people aren't about it shows they are too busy, but I'm afraid to tell you not as busy as you will be when the baby comes along LOL.

Take care.
