Besides baked potato, rice or toast?  I used to eat boiled apples, they seemed to help, but it turns out I am allergic to apples.  My guts are churning.  I am definitley flaring. sad

Usually when my stomach is really bothering me I have to avoid alot of things. Soft or liquid foods are usually the best, but for me when I'm not well I can't eat things with red food coloring (like red jello) or chocolate... Sometimes I just eat some chicken noodle soup or my mom used to make me rice and chicken broth soup which seemed to always help. I know it sucks to not be able to eat anything but sometimes if you stick to a boring diet for a few days you can go back to eating normal foods that you enjoy.

I hope you feel better soon!

A well-cooked, blended veggie soup would be good. You could also try organic veggie, beef or chicken broth. There's also a nutrition shake developed specifically for IBDers to allow bowel rest called Absorb Plus. Comes in three flavors and they taste good.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999

Therapeutic dose sulfasalazine. Off the pred and doing well.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and Mucosaheal.

This is what I eat, and I know it might sound gross, but it actually doesn't taste too bad and is easy for me to digest.. I take rice, cottage cheese and canned chicken meat and mix it into a bowl, about 1/4 cuo of rice, a good scoop of cottage cheese and one of those small cans of canned chicken... mix it into a bowl and heat in the Nukebox for about 1:30... Tastes pretty good actually and settles my stomach down every time.. I've never had a problem doing that :) I got the recipe from my VET of all persons, when my doggie was sick... LOL, but when I made it for him the first time it smelled pretty good so I tried it and it worked for me too!!

USUALLY oatmeal works for me. I can actually get through a bowl without running to the bathroom if I'm tettering on a flare.
I'm typically OK with a little milk (w/ the oatmeal), but if you aren't just make it with water and if you are OK with it add a tad bit of brown sugar.
