Hi everyone!
Well I went to my GI appt finally.  I find that for the past few months or longer that every 6 weeks or so I start to run a long grade temp of 99 to 101.  The body aches are joint pain are very very painful.  I don't normally have any other symptoms from it.  I also told him of the constipation and then diarrhea I get.  Well he ordered a bunch of blood test to look for rheumatoid arthritis (which I don't believe I have), CRP and CBC.  I did see a rheumatologist a while ago and he prescribed me prednisone very low dose and it did help.  I hate the thoughj of going on that path.  If all my tests come back normal then he may want to do a sigmoidoscopy middle of January.  All in all I have certainly felt worse.  I just miss the energy I once had and the flexibility of my body.  Thanks for being there.  Happy Holidays!
Current meds are:
Asacol 6 pills a day
Lexapro 20 mg once a day
Ativan .5 mg when needed

Shoot Stacy! It seems we can never get a break huh? I hope the pred gets you feeling better again and the joint pain lessens soon.

Ah Sherry thank you!  Believe it or not I took 200 mg motrin and it did help over a few doses.  I know we aren't suppose to do that but my GI doc told me to do that a while ago also.  All of this and I developed a cold and a fever.  You are not kidding when you say we can't catch a break.  I feel like an old lady before my time!  I hope you feel better soon.

Stacy - good luck with the doc and I hope you don't have to take the Pred. again. Since Tylenol is the only pain reliever us UC'ers can take, have you looked at taking the Tylenol Arthritis formula? I need to get some b/c I feel the joint pain too....some days worse than others. I just suffer through it, but I'm just stubborn and don't want to take more meds than I have ot....LOL.

And I know what you mean about feeling old before your time. I'm 39 and sometimes feel like a 75 year old especially when I have to stand after sitting or laying down.
Best Wishes,

Thanks Trixie,

I have tried the tyleonol arthritis and it doesn't really work.  One of the nurses where I work told me that tylenol arthritis is just a higher miligram.  You can take three extra strength tylenol and it will be the same.  I'm not sure that is true or not but a thought.  I'll keep you all posted.
