I upped my dose of Asocal from 3 pills 3 times per day to 4 pills 3 times per day. I have had less urgency and bleeding. I am hoping hoping hoping that I am going into remission. Has anyone experienced this with Asocal or a similar drug?

Asacol is a treatment and maintenance med. It's oral...and will lessen your symptoms definitely...it's realy best to take it in conjunction with rectal meds.

I've used Asacol with Salofalk enemas for 19 years...so, yes..I'd say it's worked.

Are you still taking the enemas? Have you tried any of the 5ASA retention enemas...Rowasa/Salofalk?
