I am going to give the Remi another shot. My GI was hesitant, but I was insistent. The first two doses worked wonders, while the third, not so much. I am not ready to give it up yet since the next thing is to consider surgery and I REALLY don't to do that. I've read on the Forums that some people take five or more treatments before it kicks in fully. I am upset that my GI didn't follow the 2 wk, 4 wk, 8 wk front loading, he started me at every 8 wks, although when symptoms recurred earlier he let me go in earlier. He says now that it's beyond the time to start the more frequent dosing. Which is not what I am reading here and the nurses at the infusion clinic tell me some people get larger doses and/or more frequent doses. For the most part my GI is FANTASTIC so I really don't want to have to go through switching doctors again (my first GI was beyond useless).

So for the moment I am feeling okay-ish. After a couple of months where I was barely functioning it feels good to not be so flat out exhausted, the headaches have gone away, I can eat again without feeling sick. Still visiting the bathroom way too much. I'm back up to 40 mg of Prednisone unfortunately and am partway through my series of iron injections (Venofer), which is helping I am sure. I go in this Sunday for my 4th Remicade. I usually go Saturday while hubby is at work. He wants to hang with me while I get the infusion, we'll read the Sunday paper and bring in some bagels.

Wow, I took it about a year till I felt a lot better.  I may have given sooner up but 3 months after the infusion, I had seen such an awesome change in my ulcer.  I still had flares but the ulcer was healing so I kept up.  Now I am at a double dose and may be developing antibodies against it.  I felt the maximum effect after about a year, maybe a little more, and I was on the regular dose.  I don't understand why you didn't get it at 2, 4 and 8 weeks.

even my GI was going to start me at 2, 4 & 8 weeks.........I am hoping my next GI is the charm! Get a second opinion, advice I need to take myself. Someone else on here is getting remicade infusions every 6 weeks.

I'm not on the remicade miraculously the hydrocortisone e's ended up helping me and I am almost in remission.

Okay, had a lovely morning getting my iron injection and Remicade at the Infusion Clinic. Hubby came with me this time, which he's never done before as I usually go on a Saturday when he works, but they had no openings yesterday. We had coffee and bagels and read the papers and I SOOOOOOO hope this one works as good as the first two infusions did for me. I want sooooooo bad to get off this freaking Prednisone already!! I'll keep ya'll posted as to how I feel. Although I must say, with this, my third iron injection, I do feel a lot better energy-wise at least.

This is my last week of work before about a week and half off, and I am hoping to use that time to ease myself back into my gym routine. My dog grooming clients are loving me and showering me with hefty tips and gifts and I am really enjoying that for sure! Hard to be a Scrooge when you get to be on the receiving end of this holiday cheer. After nearly two decades of being in a corporate "cube farm" I kinda like being in the service field -- at least as a business owner. Don't know if I'd like working for someone doing this ;-) But I do ramble and digress.
