So I was sitting in the dentist office with my kids today when I ran across a recipe that includes probiotics so I thought I would share.

Belly Balance Smoothie - makes 2 8oz servings

1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup of vanilla soy milk
2 tsp of honey (optional)

1-2 capsules of your probiotic opened and throw the probiotic powder into a blender, mix until smooth.

I haven't tried this yet but I plan on going grocery shopping tomorrow and trying it.  Of course if you don't like blueberries or raspberries I'm sure you can substitute it for any other fruit of your choice.

Yum...when I was taking the powdered form of the primadophilus I would add it into my banana smoothies...

yogurt (plain or vanilla)
splash of pineapple juice (100% pure juice no sugar added of course...pinapple is a fantastic natural digestive enzyme along with papaya, kiwi and mango)
add a banana and smooth it up in the processor.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)

Oooh sometimes I do cultrelle into my son's applesauce. This would be another great idea for him. And he could get some fruit too! Thanks!

What about the raspberry seeds? Beware! They can be irritating to the colon. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

ooh, i just read that papaya, melon and sweet potato (not for smoothie obviously) are really good for those with UC.

suppose to naturally help the inflammation and soothe!

i love smoothies and will try this out for sure.
i dont like yogurt or dairy in my smoothies tho. just fruit and sorbet.

i would be wary of any fruit with small seeds like old hat mentioned. ouch!

Very true Old Hat about the seeds - but a good substitute to can be used especially if you're flaring.
