I have lost my mind.....I am having my in-laws at my house on Christmas Eve and my folks Christmas Day. Not to mention the 23rd I have to travel to a Christmas party w/ some college friends. Not exactly sure when I am going to cook! Then I decided since I will already be looney from Christmas why not have a New Years Eve party for my friends and their young kids at my house!

I'm excited though....the weather was super hot here last week (think 80s). It is supposed to cool off this weekend so hopefully it will start feeling Christmasy again. Hope you all have a great holiday!!!

Sue that sounds like an awesome way to ring in the new year!

And umm yeah, Tab - I think you're crazy! :)

On Xmas eve we are going to my gma's house and on Xmas day we are going to my MIL's. We do this every year.

On New Years Eve, I'm not sure what we are doing - maybe getting together with some friends. The plans are still up in the air at the moment.

I live by my Husband's family and they don't celebrate Christmas. I usually have a get together over here Christmas Eve even though they don't celebrate Christmas, they all come. This year I have been so sick so it will just be me and my husband and kids at home, we might stop over a neighbor's house for her party she invited us to but hubby is embarrassed so we'll see... I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday, however you want to say it. I hope it's a healthy one too! Yum, Christmas cookies!!

We are going to my mom's on Christmas Eve and then to my husband's family's on Christmas Day. We do this every year. For New Year's Eve, we are staying in this year. Considering that I will be 33 weeks pregnant at that point and am barely able to keep my eyes open past 8:30 pm, I don't think I wil be a barrel of fun! I already told my husband that he is probably going to have to wake me up for a midnight kiss! :-)
Current Medications:
- Asacol (4 pills, 3x per day)
- Rowasa (1 enema daily, as needed)
- Folic Acid (1 mg, 1x per day)
- Calcium (600 mg, 2x per day)
- Prenatal Vitamin (1x per day)
- Iron (2x per day)

This year will be full of new traditions for me; I'm having a "pre-Christmas" with my boyfriend's kids, and then Christmas Eve with my parents. New Year's Eve will be spent having a special dinner and opening nice bottle of bubbly with my special someone. :-) Looking forward to the new year too!

Carol

Remicade - will have my 19th infusion on December 27.

We start on the 23rd celebrating with my parents and sister. Sis is a cop and has to work nights both christmas eve and christmas day. Then on eve we are at my sister in laws until 6 then 2 miles down the road to my parentsw house again for a huge family gathering. Lots of cousins, babies, and laughs. Christmas day we may do dinner at my aunt in laws house then quick back home where we have our traditional late night open house where all our friends gather after they are done with their families.

Planning where we are going on what days changes every year. I stress myself out the week after thanksgiving trying to coordinate so we can see as much of both or our families as possible. I can't wait to have kids cause we have decided to start all new traditions when we do. NO more two or more houses in one night!

We are staying at home too, my daughter will be 18 next month (legal adult in Canada) so we're going to have our traditional family at home xmas because likely by next xmas she'll be out on her own (won't be waking up with us xmas mornings anymore) it's sad but exciting for her in many ways too, she's anxious to be putting up her own xmas tree every year...other than that we'll be making our usual trips ( like we did before my CD got way out of control) to visit with family through the week of xmas (xmas eve, boxing day, ect)...it sucks that we have the snow on the roads to drive in though.

:)

Sounds like great celebration plans!

Bob, there are definitely baddies here ...keep in mind it'll also be a full moon....yessiree, the domestics will be in full force!

My husband's off for Christmas (for which he's looking forward), the celebration will be spent this year at his brother's. The whole family will be enjoying the company, awesome eats and probably a few games.

I hope the weather everywhere allows for safe travel.

Oddly, neither my husband nor I has any immediate family left, so we'll be on our own. Saturday we'll be helping out at a community holiday dinner for the many people who can't make a holiday for themselves. Last year, I got to be Santa's helper as he passed out presents and hubby took Polaroids for the families. I hope we get that assignment again!

Christmas day we have a couple joining us who recently moved her and don't have anyone to spend the holiday with. It'll be just the four of us, and we'll keep it simple to keep the stress down.

The holiday season has become so much more about giving for me in recent years. I also make sure I have time to rest and don't get myself over-stressed.

Happy holidays to all!
Judy

I think its all about the kids, so as long as I dont get stuck on anything over night, when i get off in the morning ill open presents with my monsters, have breakfast, get a few hours sleep, have the family dinner at the inlaws, and then go back to work. We got some neat presents for the kids (blowup punching bag with huge blow up gloves, a trampoline (indoor), a mini computer (with learning programs and such) and basically just other items that make them think or burn energy. we have enough "Cars" and "Barbies" to last three lifetimes around here......lol

Ha ha, my daughter is 23 and living out on her own but somehow she always manages to be here at home on Christmas morning.  She didn't want to give up the tradition of receiving her presents lol.

This year we are going to my parents place just outside of Kingston, ON. Wahoo, looks like a white Christmas this year!

Dx:  2006

Meds:  None so far. Garlic works to ease flares. My GI laughed when I told him and said it was just coincidence.

Diet:  Regular fresh garlic, Biobest yogurt daily, Omega 3 supplements, very limited junk food, carbs and processed food, low fat diet.  Lots of fresh fruit and veggies (limited potatoes).

Added: tumeric and probiotics.
