I just got back my blood results and my Lipase levels were high.  I did a quick search on-line but didn't find out much.  Does anybody know what role Lipase plays with Ulcerative Colitis and what does it mean to have a high level of lipase?  I spoke with my GI's nurse but all she could tell me was that she thinks it plays a role with my kidneys.

What meds are you taking?  The 5-ASA meds cause pancreatitis for about 3% of users.  High Lipase levels indicate pancreatitis.

I needed to stop taking Colazol for this reason.

M-39, UC Diagnosed June 2007

Other stuff:  Migraines/headaches, high blood pressure, essential tremor

Previous Meds: Colazol (caused pancreatitis), antibiotics, Prednisone (several cycles 20mg/day)

Current Meds: Remicade beginning in Oct ‘07, various vitamins, Imitrex, Lortab, Lisinopril
