Ok,   I had my 3rd remicade infusion today.    My dose is 5mg/kg,  which gives me 400mg of Remicade.    Anyways,  I have been pre-medicated with Benadryl and tylenol.  i don't remember what the doctor said,  but why do I get the tylenol???     Since my infusion,  my left leg has been getting some intermittent deep pains in my lower leg..is that kind of pain what the tylenol is for?    And do you all know what's causing the pain?  I can't seem to find out the info in the remicade site.

-I believe that the Tylenol is to deal with any elevated body temperature that the infusion might cause during the actual treatment; similar to giving Benadryl in case of an allergic reaction. I *think* this is why.

-I've never experienced any type of pain similar to what you're describing. I would talk to your GI or a pharmacist about it, tho.

Hope you feel better!

I have been having similar pains except at first, they were constant and in both legs and felt like extreme shocks or charley horses, some of the worst pain I have ever experienced besides child birth.  Turns out calf pain is a side effect that is listed as a  that you should call your doctor if you are experiencing.  We are not the only ones.

It was hard to find anything that listed calf pain as a side effect, but here is one and it says contact your doctor if you experience calf pain.

Defintely tell your doctor before your next infusion, ok?  The only other thing I could think of is that you are tapering off the Prednisone and that can cause pains.  But if they only started after the last infusion, I would think it's the Remicade.  Tell us what he says about it please.
