so my flare is pretty well under control (knock on wood or something..right?) I have zero to 3 bm's a day (every now and then I don't have one) but typically it's once a day.  However, they are yellow/light brown and still kind of stringy and squishy, but also not diarreah and no blood (YAY!).  B/c it's still kind of stringy I think that means that I still have inflammation???  Prior to the flare I was in, my bm's were generally fully formed and dark brown.

My questions are how long is this type of bm acceptable?  I mean to say, how long can the healing process take?

Can bm's change w/the type of meds and also after going through this bad flare, is it possible that these will be my new bm's that I wont go back to the old ones?

TIA!

"so my flare is pretty much under control"....is the key point.

I'd say you still have some inflammation happening rectally...just continue what you're doing.

how often are you using the enemas?

I would suggest you add a fibre supplement of some kind to your intake.

How is your appetite and your diet?

Hi Quincy!

I am using the enema's once a week now.

My appetite is now in full prednisone swing, I want to eat everything. For my diet, I have been doing low salt, having whole grain oatmeal or kashi cereal w/1% milk for breakfast, lunch is typically a salad w/chicken (oil & vinegar for dressing) and dinner is chicken or pork or beef w/steamed veggies w/balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Snacks are typically grapes and raspberries. I also eat light cool whip and edy's frozen fruit popsicles and sometimes, some of my husbands funions (like chips but they are onion rings).

What kind of fiber supplement would you suggest? Is there anything in pill form? I'd prefer not to do liquids it at all possible. Also, I might wait a little bit before starting that.....my hemi is almost gone.

Thank you!
