I have been having very bad shortness of breath lately.  It is so bad that I can’t walk from the house to the mail box without stopping half way to catch my breath.  It has gotten worse in the past month.  I went for a stress test.  It was found that “the bottom of heart is not pumping adequately”, what ever that means.  No blockages were found.  I have been scheduled for an echocardiogram this Thursday.  In addition, I have had very bad cramps in the feet, hands, and legs.

Anyone else have these same symptoms?  If so, what was found to be the problem?

To Selmer -How do you know what kind of diet I have been on?  I think that your condescending response is unwarranted.

As far as I know there is a right and left ventricle in the heart.  There is no "bottom" chamber.  My comment "whatever that means" is valid.  If you want to criticize all that I say, don’t.  I am looking for advice that directly relates to the problem I have described.  I don’t need a lecture on all that you “assume” I am doing wrong.  Don't pretend you know me because I posted something a year ago.  You don't know me!

Selmer, thank you for apologizing and toning down your response.  Remember: We are not here to criticize other members and nitpick on words and phrases used in posts.  Most of us, including moderators, are in HealingWell looking for information, experience of others and help.  No one has the right to speak down or disrespect others here, and I will cite Forum Rules # 3. Thank you lanieG.

I thought I would let you all know that I did learn something from this forum.  In reading past posts, I found one from Sarita that reads in part, "Your heart has four chambers. I like to think of it as a small house. There's an "upstairs" (right and left atria) and a "downstairs" (right and left ventricles). There are many areas that can "set the pace," so to speak, of your heart rate. The major pacemaker in the heart is the sino-atrial node (SA node) in the right atrium. If for some reason that node fails, there are back-up mechanisms in place to make sure the heart goes on beating. One is the atrio-ventricular node (AV node), which is situated pretty much right in the center of the house. If that fails, there are spots all over the ventricles (the "downstairs") that will then begin setting the pace. So you are very protected by your heart!
"

So there is a "bottom" chamber of the heart (actualy 2).  I thought there was only a right and a left side.  Thanks to Healingwell and Sarita, I know more now than before I made my post!

I would still like to know if anyone suffers the same symptoms as me and what their experience has been.  Thanks in advance - teaman

Hello.  New to the site.  Hope people are still active on this thread.  I'm 41 and been in great shape.  Blood work is very good. No blockages.  But I had a ecko where the doc said "it looks like the bottom of the heart is not pumping as best as it should".  It should be in the area of 50 compressions and mine is just at 40.  Not critically bad but they need to understand why.  I just worn my holter monitor and waiting for the outcome.
