thank you for your reply...I feel as though I am on a mysterious journey..although I am a female of 70 years...I have been working out for 35 years every day..am not overweight and my chol. level is total 184 ratio 2.2 ...have a family history with aunts and uncles only not my parents...of heard desease...so in attempting to solve the mystery I have been delving into this lipo a issue...I have two sons with whom I wish to pass on the knowledge to seeing if they can track their own levels and to possibly avoid this cad...what do you think..am being treated at U.c. san francisco top cardio folks and it was I who insisted on having this lipo protein level checked..please advise..Inez m 1

Thanks again for your imput...and the web-site...and yes I am at UCSF..with Anne Thorson..very well respected) cardio doc.  but re: Lipo-protein a ...I had to ask her to check my level...it is not readily done..I am beginning to believe this is a relatively new area for the am. heart assn. to delve into..at least it appears that way to me...I believe this is in ones gene's and really should be closely studied...and yes I believe diet has much to do with ones healthy lifestyle..I shall pursue the book you mentioned...Inez M.
