Has anyone had a nuclear stress test where they dilate your blood vessels? I don't have to go on the tread mill or have my heart rate speeded up.  They just want to see the blood vessels and the med they give takes only 6 min from start to finish.  Has anyone had this done and do you feel any discomfort?  I am nervous about it.  They spend a long time taking pictures which I don't mind.  I was just hoping to find out what this test is like.  Any answers would be very much appreciated.

Hi

Yes I have had this done and there was NO discomfort whatsoever.  They give you and IV type thing and then put the meds through it.  i also had to do the treadmill and the pics.  You will be fine darlin'.  I was scare too and I hasked the nurse if I couldtake a Klonopin...she said well I don't know I will have to ask the doctor.  I told her well if he says no, I'm going home ..LOL.  But it was not bad I promise.

Hi Meg, thanks for your reply.  I feel a lot better knowing that this will not be painful.  The stess test causes more stress!  I will just be glad when all the tests are over and I know what is wrong or maybe if i'm lucky nothing is wrong.  I think it is just a lung problem as I breathe fine when I use my inhalers.I appreciate your response.  Often times people just read the post and don't give any answers. And isn't the reason for writing so we can get help? Hope others will think about this when they have a problem and need nelp.

Had all of my heart tests, they were not painful and best of all everything is normal.  So I am very happy.
