Hello, I had a 5 bypass open heart surgery several weeks ago. It went well, though I am still recovering. Upon release from the hospital I got a pamphlet explaining what I am allowed to eat and so on (called TLC- Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes diet).

I am going back to work soon and, I know, I have to have lunch (and sometimes dinner too) at work or a restaurant near work.
I am at a loss as to what I can eat at restaurants because none of them publish the contents of their food.

Is there a site or a resource that has compiled meals that can be eaten at popular restaurants (in US)? Would be hugely helpful.

Thanks.

Selmer, wow, thanks. I am 36 years old. The whole thing has been kind of a shock to me. One day I just felt tightness in my chest, went to my doc, forwarded to cardiologist, they did stress test, followed by angiogram, found 90% blockage in several places, and then heart surgery the next day. I am almost 3 weeks after surgery.

My dad died of a heart attack at 42. So i suspect it's in the genes and the doctors tell me so, because my diet was not horrible (could have been much better though). I have kids, so I would like to see them grow up, thus my impetus to do things better.

Thanks for all the books, definitely will check it out.
fastfoodnutrition.org has good info, but it assumes that one is already familiar with all the lingo and needed amounts (e.g. sodium, calories, calories from fat, etc...). I'll have to read up on this.

Thanks again.
