Hi all,

I'm suffering from various symptoms since 28th December 2008 (Strong heartbeat, Stomach Cramps (no pain), Complete lethargy, Poor Sleep (avg 5-6 hours), breathing irregularities (increased sighing/yawning), occasional brain fog, constant tension in shoulders, occasional mild (dull and sharp) pains in lower abdomen (under heart) which seem to be affected by taking a deeper breath.

In recent years an overload of work-related stress, and did 0 exercise to balance.  My stomach was constantly getting larger though I'm a slim person.  In the last week or so before I got my real problems my stomach was feeling over-full all the time (seemingly bloated) ... and about 4 days long I kept waking up at about 4:30 AM with an unusually strong-beating heart, and a feeling I needed to sigh.

On the 5th day nearly all the problems I mentioned in the beginning of this post were present, also in the daytime, so I got a bit of panic attack (which is not 100% new to me in my life), and called emergency.  They calmed me down and I drove to them myself.  about 15 years ago I feared some problems with my heart and had EVERYTHING checked, so this time I only had them do the normal checks, no problems in the blood and normal EKG.  What concerns me sometimes is that my Father had a heart attack (at least he was 70 years old though, but with my stress level it concerns I could get one earlier than him).

I have a feeling I might only have experienced a BURN-OUT, since in the first 2 weeks I could hardly do ANYTHING without MAJOR STRESS/FATIGUE (and many of the above mentioned symptoms), but now I can do most activities ... although I have only been back to work sporadically, cause my tension there is still way too high to be effective/useful (it has now been nearly 5 weeks).

Any ideas/comments?  Thank you.

You know stress and sleep deprivation together can cause havoc on your body and brain. Have you considered you might be experiencing depression along with anxiety due to the stress?

The stomach is an interesting symptom, my sister just had a tumor the size of a football removed from her stomach. However you could be experiencing some kind of ulcer or digestive disorder. Have you had a physical lately.
