I am new to this forum and wondered if anyone could help I am pretty desperate for an answer. I will try to make this short,I had Nissen fundoplication surgery (stomach surgery for acid reflux) 5 years ago, I have not felt very well after this surgery, for 5 months now I have had back and chest pain and nausea I was in the hospital in April of this year because of this, they did alot of heart tests all that can be done except an angiogram, 2 nights ago I woke up with a racing heart 145bpm I called paramedics by the time they arrived my heart rate was 95bpm, they took me to hospital by the time I arrived I was at 65bpm, they did EKG everything was fine, they just told me to see my family doc which I did and he sent me to a cardiologist, this doc told me that he could do an angiogram but left it up to me because he is just not sure this is cardiac related, I have already had Thalium stress test and echocardiogram he said that angiogram is the only 100% way to know that I do not have a blockage, which by the way he doubts that I have. I am taking a PPI for acid reflux even though my GI doc thinks that is probably not the problem either. Anyway I appreciate any feedback, this 145 heart rate was so scary. Thank you

Good Morning, we have a great GERD/Heartburn Forum where you may want to post this same questions as the members there have had your surgery and many others use the same meds so they may have great input for you.

I would feel fairly safe that your cardiologist knows what he is talking about. If you are not sure what to do perhaps a second opinion is called for from another Cardiologist.

Take care.
