Hi,

I normally post in the GERD forum, but I had a question about my heart rate.

I've noticed my heartbeat has been slow - anywhere from the upper 40's to low 60's.  The other day when I had an endoscopy it was getting to the upper 40's.  I don't have any dizziness or faintness, and my energy level has be fine.

I'm taking procardia XL for high blood pressure and esophageal spasms.  Could this be causing the slow heartbeat?  If I stop taking it would it go back up immediately/eventually?

Also, I may have to have surgery in a few months for Achalasia (esophagus disorder), will the low heart rate delay or keep me from getting the surgery?

Any advice I can get would be great!
Spasms are bad...
