Im 18 years old and lately I've been experience some unpleasant pain in my chest. about a year in a half ago I went to have a strees test at the hospitial. I went there because I was have adnormal heart beats (sometimes it will be at a normal pace then it will suddenly speed up for no reason) also went there for light chest pains.

Then it was times I would fill dizzly or just tired. I had a stress test there and the hooked me up and I ran on the tredmill while I watched my heart rate. The doctor said I was in very good shape and that my heart rate was normal. But the syptoms still occur even today. Recently I've been filling pain in my chest and the rapid/adnormal heart rate is still there. Should I go back to the doctors and have them check it out again. Also should I ask for an X-ray?

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. If you are still having sx and are concerned do try to see a cardiologist and get a check up to see if it could possibly be a heart problem.

Remember that many things can cause the same sx so try not to get caught up in anticipatory anxiety. Just stay in the moment and don't try to guess what may be wrong.

Good Luck and keep on talking with us.

Okay I had visit the doctor the other day and told him about my symptoms. They told my blood pressure which they said was pretty good. Then I had an EKG and they said that my heartbeat/rate was normal and okay. The doctor told me what might have been causing the chest pain is a slighty torn muscule on the left side of my chest from not lifting weights properly. The gave me some medication for it. So everything sounds okay. Is there any need for an X-ray?

If you are referring to a regular CXR then no you won't find that a diagnostic tool for looking at the heart unless you were in heartfailure which you do not appear to be. However remember I am not a physician.

I would trust your physicians on this one and relax. Big breath and now move forward.

Take care,
