I am a 62 year old male. I just had a stress test with a treadmill and nuclear medicine. I did the stress test and my heart rate was 164 beats per minute. 12 minutes on the treadmill. After this the heart rate turned to normal within a very short period of time. The nuclear scan was abnormal--lower part of the heart showed something. Heart doctor is unclear what that was. After a 3 hour rest the nuclear test was normal.
Does this warrant having a cath done? What should one do? Thanks

Templeton,

Hey hello. Welcome to HealingWell. Wondering what your physician has suggested next for you as far as tests? I would strongly encourage you to talk to him/her re what tests to do next. Also wondering if you have any pain with the abnormal rhythm?

Hopefully you will hear from other members that have some input on your questions.

Again a warm welcome,

Kitt

I had a stress test in the past - 9 years ago. I was having trouble going up a hill for a walk. So ever since I have a stress test to make sure there is no more blockage. I changed my diet and started cardio exercise. For 9 years I have been fine. This test revealed something at the bottom of my heart. I want a second opinion-- wouldn't you? My primary physician is scheduling a second stress test with a different cardiologist. I was not having any symptoms. I work out vigorously for 5 days a week now. The heart doctor wanted me to have a angiogram done and possibly have a stent put in. I need another opinion done before the more invasive test is done. Thank you
