My husband had a Nuclear Stress Test last Thurs and Friday. Monday, my husband called them to see if he could get something for anxiety and sleep. (He's really having a problem with these) The doctors nurse took his message, and called him back later. She said he has to go to his GP get some meds for anxiety and sleep. She also told him his heart was too scarred to withstand a bypass. And that's all she said. Didn't tell him what they're going to do for all the arteries that are blocked. 2 in his neck, 2 in his groin, and an aneurysm in his abdomen. My question is: did she have the right to tell him anything about the results of the test? Why did the doctor not tell him the results? Now my husband is depressed about what she said. I asked him why he didn't ask her the other stuff, and he said he was so stunned about what she said, he didn't think about it. I'm really upset about this. Any opinions? confused

Have you called the GP yet for something to take the edge off so he can sleep? When is his appointment with the cardiologist? She shouldn't have said anything unless it was to a specific question you or him asked for results and especially information like that should be conveyed by the doctor and the appropriate time.
I would then take all the reports and tests to another cardiologist and get a second opinion, but go to a learning hospital or a hospital that has high volume heart surgeries.

We're doing ok tracker. Thanks for asking. His doctor finally called him and apologized for taking so long to call him. My hubby's surgeon that did the bypass 14 years ago is looking at his results and will let my hubby know what he's going to do for him.

The nurse should not have told him anything as she does not really know, besides thats the drs place to tell him whats going on.she overstepped her bounds.........they can put stents in to help unblock arteries......
