This is one of the best sites for a caring community. I have gone to and looked at others, including 'hot' ones like '', but I find people genuinely caring here.

Here's a bit about me.

There is great information here. I am 48 year old male with high cholesterol that was discovered 8 years ago. I tried to control with diet and exercise, but couldn't since it is hereditary in my case. I am now on Crestor. Started with 20mg, now down to 10 mg.

Just spoke with my doc, we're going to get an EKG done to be safe.

I am not overweight, in fact, probably underweight, and always have been throughout my life. I'm 5'4", 110 lbs.

I suspect my arteries are getting clogged up. I want to try other natural remedies like Niacin, Pectin etc, but I am not sure about doing it while on Crestor.

Any feedback from anyone?

In the mean time, I'll get more tests done and post my findings.

Welcome. I am glad you found us and hope you will stick with us.

There are several myths concerning herbs.

One common belief is that since herbs come from plants, they are natural and safe. Wrong!

Some of the most potent poisons in nature come from plants. Generally, herbs are safe when used properly and used alone BUT if you ingest herbs in combination with prescription drugs, you better do your homework and know what you are doing. Always ask your Dr. about mixing herbs with prescription drugs to be on the safe side.

Crestor (rosuvastatin): Interacts with ethanol, gotu, kola, niacin, oats, pectin, red yeast rice, St. John's Wort and wild cherry.

Again a warm welcome.
