I am new to this game and searched this site to find out what % of you have had blocked arteries in spit of your acceptable CH. I had a stent at age 71 and a few years later consented to a statin. I've been active all my life but after being switched to vytorin at 78 I was weak, tired, no energy, etc. My issues were clouded by being diagnosed with two leaking valves, I never suspected side effects. However, when congress forced the drug lord to publish the 2 year vytorin study I quit statins. Within 3 months, now 80, my energy returned and i took the 8 hour, 4,000' gain hike into Jungle lake with no problems. It was a pleasure so we repeated it two weeks later. A few months later my CH was checked at 315. At age 81 they did an angiogram to find my arteries clean.

So my question to the troops is: have any of you with a total CH of less than 200 ever had a stent installed?

Herrbones

What did your cardiologist use as a reason to do the angio.  Were you having chest pains ??

Glad to hear you are out hiking.  WTG and I hope you have given  yourself a big pat on the back.

Again, a warm welcome.

Kindly,

Kitt
