Hello to all, I am normally on the UC board but in Jan. I had a double bypass. Im doing fairly well after the surgery. But instead of using vains from my leg they used the artery from my left arm. They said arteries last long and I am only 54 so that is the route they choice. my incision in the arm is from my wrist to my elbow. my Arm half way down to the palm of my hand and up my thumb is still numb. My question is if anyone else has had this with there arm is does the numbness ever leave. Thank you

Good Morning potty girl,

I am glad your surgery went well and you are healing.   Good question re your arm incision.

Incisions may be sensitive even to light touch. Some people  complain of numbness, tingling, weakness of the little and ring fingers, going up the arm to the elbow. Actively using the hand may be helpful for arm and hand pain.

You may want to put a call in to your Dr. and ask if you should be concerned about the arm numbness.

Again,  I am so glad to hear everything else went so well.

Kindly,
Kitt

Thank you Kitt, I did ask my doctor about it he says it may are maynot get better, good answer I guess You cant be wrong with it. I really dont have pain in it unless it gets cold and rains. The doctor wasnt sure why it did that either. But dont get me wrong I like the doctors I see and the surgeon they saved my life. I did rehab and worked my arm alot and that took the pain and tightness out of it. But the numbness is still there and not any better at all. Thanks again.
