I have fibromyalgia and usually post in the fms forum. I would like to know if this is considered hypertension or maybe I need to exercise. My blood pressure when resting is around 117/78 to 120/80. It may be a little lower upon waking. Once I get up and start moving around, for instance just walking down the hallway a few times will send it up to 130/90. I noticed a few minutes ago walking around downstairs and then up the stairs it went to 158/94. Once I sit down it goes back down. I know our blood pressure rises with activity just didn't know if this is too high. I am not on any meds, probably about 15-20 lbs overweight. I'm 38 and other than my fibro and ruptured disks I'm healthy. Nonsmoker and I do not drink. I know about 3 or 4 years ago my cholesterol was 165. I think my triglycerides were on the high side of normal. Since I have the fibro, it's been hard to exercise and not have a flare. Just would like to know what others think.
Thanks for your 2

Hello Karen,
Good to know you are concerned about your BP and keeping it under control.
130 - 85 - High Normal
120 - 80 - NORMAL Blood Pressure
110 - 75 - Low Normal
I would suggest you see your Dr. and let him decide if your readings are anything to be concerned about and whether you would benefit from medication.
Let us know how you are doing.
