This is my first post of my life, I read all posts in Part 1 & 2 WOW, I learned so much thanks. You have guessed why i am here!, On 5-21-2012 was DX "There is a small ascending thoracic aneurysm measuring 4.2 CM in diameter. There is a 3.3 CM descending thoracic aneurysm with moderate tortusity. No dissection is seen" and "There is no significant mediastinal or hilar adenopathy. There may be left ventricular wall thickening of the heart. An echocardiogram may be helpful for further evaluation.
This was uncovered because I had back pain, I convinced my PCP to send me for a MRI on 1)Cervical, 2)Thoracic, 3)Lumbar, scan. The scan identified aortic issues and suggested a CT Scan, this recommendation was given to my Cardiologist.
I am male, 66 yrs, when I was 59 I had a quad by-pass, and quit smoking 14 months ago (so dumb - so slow).
I understand the ascending issue, but the rest needs research, I see my Cardiologist on 6-5-2012 and he will answer all the remaining questions. Since I live in Phoenix I guess that Mayo Clinic may be my choice as Cleveland is a ways off.
Tell me your thoughts, advice, opinions, and I will answer any questions you may have.
I thank the forum, and the Forum Moderator, I know so much more since I have read all the posts.

I'm also super curious why no one responded...? Do they reply privately?

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. You have responded to a member that only posted one time last May 2012.  I am not sure why no member responded to his post.  It may be that no other member had information re a small ascending thoracic aneurysm measuring or experience with a  descending thoracic aneurysm with moderate tortusity.
I am posting you a link to Part 2 of a thread that spoke to aneurysms, however it is from 2010-2011 but you may find info that will help you.
The next link covers 2010 - 2012 on same topic:
Just click on the links and you will open up the older threads with tons of info.
Wendy, You may want to  introduce yourself in a new thread before you begin responding to the topics already in progress.

This is done by clicking on the 'new topic' button which will open a new thread for you to post your introduction as well as any questions you have or advice you want to share.  This will help members see your first post. It is best to start your own 1st thread rather than attach it to an old thread that way you will get more responses.
Again a warm welcome to you and I hope you stick with us.
