There was a question re Fish Oil, or the omega-3 fats relating to heart health recently.  I know a lot of people who've told me that they in fact do take these supplements and others like myself who just enjoy eating the fish instead.  In an article by the Mayo Clinic staff, I found some other information that I was not familiar with and just wanted to pass this along to you...

"The AHA says Fatty fish, such as mackerel, albacore tuna and salmon, contain omega-3 fatty acids. Studies show that omega-3 fats can help prevent heart attack and stroke. The best way to get omega-3 is from food sources. But some people may benefit from a fish oil supplement."

Then they also added this;

"Consult your physician before taking fish oil supplements to reduce your heart disease risk. Large amounts of omega-3 could cause excessive bleeding in some people."

Please add your thoughts to this-I'd enjoy hearing from you!

I am going to share something that you will all think odd. I detest salmon! I love fish but not salmon. When I was growing up, we were poor. Couldn't afford ground beef even. Salmon were plentiful where I lived. And if fishing was slow, salmon was dirt cheap - even cheaper than ground beef and chicken. We had salmon loaf, salmon patties, salmon everything. If I never have to eat it again, I will be thrilled. I know the omega 3 is good for the heart, but I'm not getting mine eating salmon. - LOL
