I was diagnosed with COPD two years ago and then GP thought I had a blood clot so I ended up at the hospital (I am in UK) where they diagnosed irregular heartbeat. I don't have any figures, they don't tell you in the UK. Had a cardio version a year ago. It lasted 6 months.
Went back and have just had a Pacemaker fitted but no difference to breathing. Have to go on 6th September for another cardio version.
They are talking about Ablation but it scares me as it sounds a most uncomfortable procedure and I have read on the forum of people having up to four of these and still not being right.
Has it improved over the years, does anyone know the success rate - and what is success? And even with sedative does it still hurt?

There is a thread a little ways down that talks about "4th ablation or not". You might get some answers there. Just fyi...

Thanks I have read that one, also read a thread that ran a few years ago but wondered if anyone had had a pacemaker before the ablation. Also with the posts being 5 or 6 years old wondered if there was any advancement on success rates.
