A bacon double cheeseburger,  some crispy, spicy fries.  Biggy sized, to go?!  Sound Good?

Well I suppose to be fair, it may sound good to some,   nono   but clearly it's not on the menu if you're here visiting this forum because of heart health. skull

But let's tell the truth.  Do you all stop occasionally at one of those places?  Come on now...the truth.

What do you get to eat if you stop?  Do you go often?  Do you try to eat the healthiest foods on the menu?, or do you say to heck with it, I just don't care, tongue I want it all?! lol

Be as honest as you can and you can be anonymous here if you'd like! tongue tongue tongue

Welllll, I can say I've had a jr. cheeseburger at one of the places because my husband said I needed to eat more meat and we were going somewhere and just stopping in for him to get something quick. lol eyes That was about 2 months ago.

One of the places offers a bowl of fruit with a low fat yogurt dip??  I'm in love! cool I could eat that daily!  But instead, I usually buy my own fruit and cut it up and use my own low fat yogurt dip! lol  The same place offers a baked potato, so I can enjoy that, once or maybe twice, I've had a half of one of the salads...some of them have more calories than a burger! yeah

Though, I will admit, I love chicken and there's been a couple of stops at one of those types of places recently. devil

Fess up now!!  Let's hear the truth! yeah

Umm...hmmm...there's not enough space to list my stuff.  I really, really, really like cheeseburgers.  Bc my problem is arrhythmia related, I haven't been banned from them.  I do try to limit when I have them though...I don't want to end up with more heart problems down the road.  I've had my fill of them already.

hi all,

re fast food:  there are quite a few good sites out there that list

the most common fast food restaurants and their nutrition, so you

can see how much total fat, sat fat, mono fat, cholesterol, sodium,

etc that you are getting.

i went over that list and typed up for myself (yes, i know, quite anal!)

a list of places i like to go and what i can order there that is either the

least offensive to my ticker or actually even healthy!  every place has

SOMETHING you can have.  but you have to beware what i call

"tricks in advertising" - my favorite of the moment is the wrap craze.

it would seem that those would be so healthy.  and in fact, most are

under 10 grams of fat.  but if you're being VERY careful...for example,

chick-fil-a's grilled chicken wrap is 65 units of cholesterol - i'm trying

to limit myself to no more than about 200 a day, so 65 is a a pretty

big chunk.  but you just have to balance everything out.

even the fast food salads can be little devils, with cheese, dressings,

all the extras sprinkled on.  beware!

by the way, i think i've mentioned this before in another thread,

but there IS some heart-healthy beef out there now.  it's called

"belgian blue" - i have some of the ground beef in my freezer right

now.  it is LOWER fat than chicken and some fish!  i recommend

strongly seeking that out if you need a cheeseburger fix!  the beef

is actually really good, quite moist not dry at all.  try typing in

"Ozarka belgian blue beef" on a google search and you can go right

there and look at their nutrition chart!
