sad   Here I go again --back in with can't breathe and mild cp I guess I did pretty well for the last 4 months--so back to square one!

I was admitted at the hospital I work at because where my cardio was there were no beds so I spent wed thru most of Sat in ICU here--  Today I saw my cardio in the office and here we go--we are going to adjust my meds a little and try another antispasm drug and d/c the Topral for now and I am scheduled for ANOTHER stress test on Friday the 10th--this is the same old pattern-- My cardio told me 'YOU ARE REALLY A CHALLENGE!" I think I would much rather be cut and dried without these atypical symptoms- I guess what I really want to know is this all there is?  Is this the way it is going to be--the rest of my life??? I know what will happen especially since the ekg is normal, the stress test will be normal-and then eventually we will do ANOTHER cath because by that time I won't be able to hardly breathe!

Course with any luck the new meds will work!

Hi Stardreamer!!  tongue I'm so happy to see you here, but sorry to hear that the same troubles are following you!! sad

I think pretty much at this point it's the medication that they count on, or the EECP treatments for small vessel blockages.  Unless you've built up more blockages in the larger arteries, then perhaps they'll be able to help you with that-I hope you do get some relief!!

Please keep us posted-I miss you!! yeah

Hugs always, Teri tongue

Star count me as number 3 at the party if we everget normal again. I have small vessel disease on the vessels on top of my heart my cardio told me and with this heat and humidity is like opening a big oven door and me haveing to catch my breath now on ADvair 3 times a day instead of twice a day confused   but like the doctor told me be glad they have medicine and my husband told me well darline it beats the altertative and some day's I have shared this with teri Star dreamer you know you are aching when your hair hurts. yes I kid people wehn they tell me they ache all over I say does yur hair hurt? the just laugh but I feel for you just take care and keep a posting here our dear star.

Hi Star and all.

I am curious about your symptoms and your recent visit to the ICU.  Did they do cardiac enzymes on you 2-3 times and were they all normal each time?  Thr troponin levels are the most sensitive?

Wish everyone better days ahead... yeah

Yes they did my cardiac enzymes q8 hours, I was told my troponin level didn't bump up at all-- but then I have had much blockage without it being elevated-

I finally got to see my cardio last Thurs --He looks at me and says "you certainly are a real challange" he stopped my Toporal XL and started me on Cardizem 120 mg--I am scheduled for ANOTHER stress test this Friday (I wonder why we waste my time and the insurance company's money, as they are ALWAYS NORMAL) and back to see him two weeks later-

Star, I know, who's counting, right?!  But I think I've lost count of your caths-12?  I'm at 9 now, and hoping for no more.

Unfortunately, for some people that present with certain symptoms, but don't always show the normal elevated levels, or they have normal stress test results, the cath is 'the golden standard' that is used and without having it you could be in big trouble!!

I've had 99% blockage and it didn't show up in traditional tests, Star has had some of the very same problems and more!  (I'm hoping you don't mind that I speak for you, Star?)

So I wanted to wish you all the best on your next cath, Star, and hope there is something that they can help you with!!

Hugs, Teri xoxoxo

Miss Teri you can speak for me anytime--- I have had 11 cardiac caths-- I am not trying for #12, we will see how it goes, at least this cardio is a little more conservative--in fact when he called me from the OTHER hospital while I was HERE- he said I am not sure I would do a cath even if I could get yo over here--then he went on to say you do know there are still risks having a cath-like a clot or plaque breaking loose and causing a stroke?  I told him I wasn't in the market for a cath just yet (I think that has gotten to be standard of care for me at University Hospital, that is why I did not want to go downtown this time, I wanted to be with my favorite cardio)  I also know it is easy for them to put me off because my symptoms are atypical and because they always say "you don't look like you are sick" (famous last words LOL!!)  Anyways I would really be surprised if anything anything showed up on the stress test---because of the stress test I can't have the CT done until after it because of the contrast (after all I don't want to light up in the wrong places) so NO ct until  the 17th-- sad   We need to talk Miss Teri!

My last cath showed that the vein grafts were holding up, the cardio Dr. even dramatically wiped his brow and said 'whew!' The small vessel blockages that I have are causing the same symptoms as the large vessel blockages and I would have never believed it until I had it happen to me. I get SOB, left shoulder and arm pain, and this last time, even had crushing chest pain. So now the pain is controlled by nitro patches. Usually the .4 mg. Nitro Dur works, but if I do anything extra ordinary then I need .6 mg. I know I've mentioned this before, but I just want you all to know, that you can have a "clean"? bill of health yet still have the small vessel disease and the problems that go with it!

Hugs,s Teri :)

PS Yes, Miss Star we do need to talk! lol
