Thought I'd check with some seasoned experts!  I've been having this "flutter" sensation, in the middle of my chest, more up by the base of my neck (or between the base of my neck and throat), but right in the center.  It's really a quick thing, like a single spasm if that makes sense...like a catch when you exhale.

At first a few weeks ago, I noticed it in conjunction with the end of a chest cold I was having.  Would at first only notice it at night and when laying on left side.  Occasionally I'll get it on my right or when I'm sitting.  I've not noticed it when walking or doing anything.

I've mentioned it to my doctor and he doesn't seem too concerned.  So, thanks for the time!  Does it sound like a "palpitation" or heart flutter or something more bronchial?

Hi Larz and Welcome to the HealingWell Cardiovascular forum!! yeah

I'm not a Dr., but if you have seen one and he/or she feels that it wasn't anything to worry about and you are at the end of a cold?  I'm going to 'guess' it could be some type of muscle spasm-perhaps in response to the end of your cold.

Other than that, it's not anything I've ever come across before, not that that means anything tongue as I said I'm no expert!  Perhaps one of the other members have had something like this and could give you more of an answer!  Anyone??

Have you ever had any cardiovascular event before?  If it continues to bother you, I would re bring this up to your Dr. and at the very least ask them for an opinion on what's causing this.

Best of luck to you!  Hugs, Teri tongue

Larz, I just wanted to check and see how you've been doing? Is your problem continuing, or has it resolved itself?

Best wishes, Teri :)
