Hello and welcome,
I am sorry to read of your problems.  Having Factor V Leiden can cause an elevated d- dimer test result.  I have Factor V Leiden but have never had a reason to run a d-dimer test.  You may want to ask your Dr. to check to see if you have Factor V Leiden.

Thanks. I thought that was a inherited condition?

They ran the d-dimer test in the ER because i came in with sharp chest pains and whenever
i would breathe in,it would really hurt.

abnormal ekg, but no heart attack and no lung clots. I also had a leg ultrasound a few days
ago and it was negative.. but i have leg pains, bulging and vein pains, and body chills that
won't go away.

i have been told that blood test can also relate to infections and inflammation, among other
things... yet my WBC is normal and i have no fevers. Help!!
