I had Pacemaker put in for slow heart rate. Later developed SVT. I had two ablations which I had two AV nodes. Also have intolerance of adrenaline. When I followed up after 2nd ablation I developed Wenckebach aka 2nd degree heart block. Has any one experinced this. I am a 31 year old and they are suggesting pacing me permanently which is scary. I a lookinh for experiences with thie and or ideas of other options.

Wow! Scary doesnt quite describe it all I'm sure. I'm 39 and am on my second pacer. I've got the new Medtronic MRI compatible. Well it's more of an ICD as its wired for the defib function even though it's not currently engaged. I have sick sinus syndrome & my heart rate fell to the 20's and wouldnt budge after several weeks in the hospital. I too have had SVT's since pacer implant as well as Tachy HR, arrithrimias. It's confusing but my final dx with this problem lies in an autonomic disorder. I hope you find answers or at least some support here.
Take care

They are now telling me they believe it is an autonomic disorder as well. Said they believe I have Hyperadrenagenic POTS.

I am very sorry dolson! I'm sure you have been through a lot with all this. I haven't heard of that disorder but there are quite a few. I have Multiple System Atrophy diagnosed in 2005 & Multiple Sclerosis diagnosed 2001. I thought MS was bad but an Autonomic disorder is scary and simply hell.

I feel for you really and am here if you need anything. I don't think too far ahead or plan things anymore. I never know how im gonna feel and most usually it's not good. However, trying to stay positive and keeping my focus on today helps greatly.

Please keep posting and keeping us updated on how your doing.

dolson,

I am sorry to read of your heart problems and I can understand how distressing this is for you.

I have a link from Mayo for you that may help you understand a bit about POTS:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ9bv7jx-Ls

We have had a few patients with POTS over the past and the sad part is not many understand this disorder.

Don't give up and know I am here to support you.

Kindly,

Kitt
