Hi!

I hope everyone has had a good day so far today?!  I know we have one member, Brenda, in the Pericardiectomy section, undergoing a Pericardiectomy this week, so I wanted to wish her the very best!!

It is such a blessing to come to this section of the Heart Forum where we all come togther in peace and harmony and no hurt feelings. I was visting another Board and they were geting to be so snipity it amazes me and just stresful reading stuff like that.

Please keep your eyes on Emily and soon to be Franklin coming off the coast of Africa.

Again Teri and Kathlyn yu both do such a great and fantastic job as moderators here.

Heidi

Heidi, I edited this per your request.  Hugs, Teri :)

Heidi, you have my prayers. I understand, being in the field of mental health, that groups have a life and peronality of their own. I just hoped and expected, I guess, that people who are suffering with serious health problems could come together and be supportive. I'm not sure what is going on over at this other place, but I hope that people can come back together and be supportive. Life is so short and why expend so much energy on such stuff? Big hugs, Kath

Kath

Thanks I know life is to short to dwell on the small stuff and I am also learning that too. Got to be happy, ask forgiveness and give it too. Just life is to short to dwell on the what ifs.. etc.. but thanks for yuor support.

Heart Healthy diets... :)
I'm so excited - my new cockatoo, 'BabyToo', is learning to eat real bird food and people food now! We could all learn from him. lol
He had his formula for breakfast via 'dixie cups'. Then he dined on oranges, apples, pelleted/fruity smelly bird food, bird seed, a variety of beans and fresh vegetables, including broccolli, red peppers and carrots, peanuts and wheat bread with a tad of natural peanut butter on it! It takes me all morning to get him settled! lol (of course, then there's lunch via 'dixie cups' as well as dinner the same method.)

Then I feed my cockatiels, Petey and Pookie, and then I usually go into the pet shop where I volunteer a couple hours a day and handle more birds!! Tuesday is my day off. haha

Signed, Teri with birds that eat well...

hi everyone,

too busy getting ready and too nervous with apprehension to write earlier tonight, so by the time you all read this i will have undergone my second heart cath.  it's 3 a.m. now, so yes, i'm ignoring the usual get a good night's rest before procedures rule!  i always do - cain't sleep.  up doing laundry, watering plants, answering emails, other stuff to distract me.  i always figure that i can and will sleep the entire day of procedure and about 20 hours after.  i don't do great with the anaesthetics, they just wipe me out for a few days, so i'll catch up on my rest then!  and i will catch up with you all asap.  i have told my partner, darren, to write you if there's any "exciting" news!  hopefully, though, they will find zero new to worry about, and i will be back home in my own bed this time tomorrow night getting a good nights sleep.  it helps me so much to know my healing well family is behind me - thank you for your thoughts and prayers, everyone.

and i'm always hoping, of course, that YOU all are well and feeling your best -

Libby, hope all went well with your cath and that we will hear from you soon that it did. Hugs

I've not been on the last couple of days because I've been a little under the weather and trying to make it to work and not miss any hours. I"m feeling better tonight, though, so hoping to be back soon.

Thanks, Teri, I am feeling better. I guess it was a little bug, or I'm feeling tired from not being used to work a "normal" work day, lol. I made sure that I tried to get to bed early last night, which didn't actually happen. I tend to dawdle. However, slept for seven hours. I hope you are feeling better, too. And that Libby and Darren faired well!

I had me such a pleasent suprise tonight. My husband went utside to empty the trash and saw a package hanging on the post and sai a package came for you. My first reaction was I didnot order anything then saw it was from my sister who is a Traauma room RN nurse and her husband is a Proffessor of Anthesiology and inside was handcrafted silver jewelry 2 necklaces with a blue and black stone in it and a matching braclet then 2  necklace charms that i can ut on a necklace and then a relly preytty  Galabaya a casual dree Egyptian women wear it is red silk :-)   then trimmed i  gold braid and gold bells on it oh so pretty. :-)   from a sister who never got along with me she is going to be 38 this Sept 27th and married a 3rd time and no kids at all but she and I are trying to get close told me in the note it is my early B-day gift and my B-day isnot till Aug 5th .But the ljewelry is all handcrafted and so beautiful.

So i had a nice suprise for my heart.

hi all,

wow, thanks for all the good thoughts.  i'm back home and at the computer.  the procedure went well, altho' my leg is still quite sore tonight and i've had some "emergency trips to the bathroom" if you get my drift...

so the stents that were put in in february are doing OK.  the artery at the bottom is better, he said, but the right descending artery is much worse.  so there was good and not so good news.  he said it's time for more aggressive treatment.  i don't know yet what that means!

but thank you, thank you for all your good, positive thoughts and prayers.  they mean so much to darren and to me.  i'm still more out of it than i would have thought i would be, considering they didn't really do anything, so i will write more tomorrow.

xo's to all,

libby

Libby!! It's so good to see you posting - I'm glad to hear the good news, and I'm curious why nothing was done? to the RDA if it was that bad-perhaps he meant it was worse than before, yet not bad enough to stent yet?! You will have to let us know.

Big Hugs, Teri :)

Take it easy on the leg and no heavy lifting! :)

Libby, It's good to read your posts again. Was wondering what had been going on. The fact that your stents are better. I've only had one stent and that was a drug-eluting stent. I have not had a cath to see if they are doing okay. What type of stent did you have?

Heidi, wow I want to live near you (when there are no hurricanes of course!!). Nothing better than home made jams and jellies. Do you make it with sugar substitutes? I would like to try Splenda one day. I was wondering also if you were overdoing, my friend.

Warmly, Kathy
