Hello Nino,

Welcome to HealingWell.  I did a search and did not see any other thread with this disease in the forum.

Perhaps you could share your history and how you got to the point you are at now.

I am going to start you out with a explanation of this disorder:

What Is Ischemic cardiomyopathy?

Ischemic cardiomyopathy (CM) is the most common type of dilated cardiomyopathy. In Ischemic CM, the heart's ability to pump blood is decreased because the heart's main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, is enlarged, dilated and weak. This is caused by ischemia - a lack of blood supply to the heart muscle caused by coronary artery disease and heart attacks.

Perhaps you would share with us the symptoms, when you learned you had this disorder and how you are being treated?

Kindly,

Kitt

I'm actually a bit dizzy while reading or writing something. Anyway, no pain no gain.

From what i had been through from my first symptoms, edema is the major annoying condition before the real attack come. I could gain additional 15 -20 kg body weight because of the exceeding water or acites starting from my abdomen to my feet.

The thirst was unbearable, but the excretion was minimum. Before I had ever realized what exactly it was, i did some acupuncture therapy. It helped but not for long.

However, 2 weeks before the first edema, i did not have enough sleep within a month non-stop. Only 2 hours per day because i learning something about investing in US time. I slept at 3 - 5 o'clock in the morning or less, riding a bike for about 20 minutes, and prepare to go to work at 06.30 am. At the of the 30th days, i woke up with my right hand moving by itself and i could not feel it.

I was shocked, thinking whether it was a possession or just stroke sign. Never cross my mind of any kind of heart failure at that time. Thus, i took an acupuncture medication for about two weeks. But the water kept getting imbalance inside me. (i "hate" to go to doctor or hospital because it is so costly for me). Finally I gave up. I got hospitalized for 10 days, but only got Lasix infusion and some medication such as: captopril, spirolactone, digoxin, and some oral med for my diabetics (metformin 500mgx2 + glibenclamide 5mg x 2, and galvus 1x per day.).

Due to my diabetic condition, i had already an abnormal creatine leakage through my kidney, the number is 9. The ridiculous thing was that my doctor didn't tell me that it was a symptom of CHF. I got 2 doctors, for my kidney and my cardiac, both are specialists. So this was my first journey of getting hospitalized for my CHF.

Until today, i had been reentering hospitals for about 7 times, including 2 times for acute gastric inflammation, because of overwhelming stress I supposed. Remembering those moments, also makes me feel stupid, because I still played badminton, worked overtime, and didn't increase my diet quality. The other hospitalizations are just another different story. Pls be noted that lasix or any medications can fail, when you already have protein leakage from your kidney.

Nino.

<Edit> Nino, I broke your post down into paragraphs for easier reading. :-)
