Hi everyone,

I am new here.. UK-based. I have a history of CV / heart disease in my family so I have been looking into preventative treatments. Came across the whole Arginine story. 3-5g plus per day and add Citrulline at night.

I also read the "NO more Heart Disease" by Ignarro so am taking the antioxidants (ALA, vitamin E/ Tocopherol, folic acid etc) as well now. Plus now I have read here (http://aminoacidstudies.org/pine-bark-extract-and-arginine-highly-effective-erectile-dysfunction-treatment) that Pine Bark Extract is supposed to be excellent in protecting the epithelium so I am taking that now too!

Am wondering if anyone has any success stories?

jfred,

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  Interesting info in the link you posted. In searching for info online I found many outlets that are selling these products and touting them as a medical breakthrough that some consider to be one of the most important advancements in the fight to naturally lower High Blood Pressure, Stroke, High Cholesterol, Heart Attack, and Sex Drive Loss, in the last 50 years!

I would caution anyone that feels they want to try these supplements to please talk with your physician first.

I have not seen any posts from members who have used these supplements but I could have easily missed a post.

Kindly,
Kitt

It's nice to see someone else who uses suppliments instead of drugs. I'm allergic to most of the drugs out
there so do the herbal thing. I use Co Q-10, surrepatease and Hawthorne berry to help with my ticker.
My heart is upside down on one side and I was on toprol and nitro...now I use nothing smilewinkgrin
I use ALA, beta alanine, sunflower lectithin, bromelain, super cissus rx, true calm, bio-sil, HGH, colostrum,
hylaronic acid and a few others for my ailments. I have fibro, lupus, arthritis, spinal stenosis (sphingolin
is great for that), heart problems, nerve damage in legs and a host of other stuff. Just keep on smiling..
makes them wonder what you're up to!!

Nana Monster, I take my hat off to you! You have a great mindset and I really believe it's (almost) all in the head! Just keep going and do not give 'em an inch!

Thank you for your thoughts, stkitt. I bounced the Arginine pine bark extract combo off my GP and local pharmacy and neither had any concerns so I decided to give it a shot. I have been on one from Germany called amitamin M forte for 1 month now and I can definitely feel improved vascularity. Trust those Germans.

Keep it up Nana Monster (great user name)!

My grandkids used to go.."Oh, it's a Nana Monster" so it kind of stuck. I now have 13 of them..all
the way from 20 down to a newborn.
I was in a car accident a couple of days ago where my poor little Subaru was totaled. A dump
truck decided it was a little large and proceeded to take out the side of it. So now the chest is
hurting pretty bad...partly stress and partly it kicked in the fibro real bad. I'm living off of beta-alanine
which is an amino acid that helps the muscle structure and is working on the pain some.
Most people don't want to do the herbal solutions but I'm allergic to so much out there and have
had adverse reactions to most. I'm lucky that the herbs work for me and that I have a couple of
awesome advisers at 2 different shops. My GP wants to push a lot of drugs on me but I got the Lupus
from the arthritis meds I took years ago.
I'm thankful I'm alive, walking and cognitive. That's all that matters in how you look at life.
God put me here for a reason....just gotta figure out what it is??!!
