I had a stress test done almost  a year ago. it went high but they werent concerned w/ my heart after .I still find that every time i go up the stairs especially carrying something my heart rate shoots up . If i carry a laundry basket up the stairs my heart rate goes up to 145 and  i can definately feel that, feel out of breath, winded, sweaty etc. My son just got a cough assist machine that came w/ an o2 monitor. I decided to check my pulse  and o2 while carrying up a basket. My heart rate jumped right to 145 as i can feel it when it does and also my oxygen dropped instantly to 93 % that is what concerned me .

I am tempted to call the cardiologists again .

Hi and Welcome to HealingWell, Sarah! yeah

Yes, I think you should contact your Dr. and let them know this!  I am not saying that you have a problem, for I'm not a Dr., however since it's been a full year from the last stress test and you are continuing with this problem and it's concerning you - it wouldn't hurt to have it done again.  Have you had prior heart problems, or a family history of heart trouble?  Do you have any current lung problems, such as asthma?

I would also ask to have an echocardiogram done. There is also another non invasive test that can be done - see the following link;

I hope this helps you out - my best wishes to you!

I second what Teri said...see your doctor and bring to him your concerns.  I'm working with mine right now to control my high heart rate.  Good luck!

Sorry its been a crazy week, had guests and had showings finally sold our house (building a new one thats almost done) I am doing ok . Yes i have asthma for the person up and my son has some lung stuff going on too. WE have some rare conditions in our family. I have altogether itp, fms, graves, hypoparathyroidism, ibs and a probable neuro muscular disease/metabolic. MY son has glutaric aciduria type 2, and chronic pneumonia and asthma, hypotonia and severe speech delays. my thyroid levels all seem to be in tact, yet, my goiter is still present. I am checked redily on my calcium yet i can't sustain a calcium level of over 6 w/o suppliments. The humidity has brought the worst out in my wheezing. I also noticed blood in urine i have to have checked this week too someitme. I do notice upon excersize sudden race of the heart my o2 drops to lower levels. and I feel it. Is it from being out of shape like my mom says? I find i have a hard time even excersizing but i try to do it safely.

Hi again, Sarah! tongue

You really do seem to have a lot of health issues going on and it would appear that you are really up to date with everything and staying on top of your health status - that's

excellent! yeah

I'd like to restate that I'm not a Dr. and my advice stands as before, to please bring this to your Dr.'s attention and let him/or her be your guide.

My best wishes to you!!

Hugs, Teri tongue
