Hello all! I'm a 27 yr old married man with a 6week old baby girl! I have anxiety and panic disorder. My gp tells me I'm healthy as a horse, besides my slightly elevated blood pressure. I take 20mg benicar, Prevacid, and 5mg buspirone twice daily. I had a stress test about a year ago that came back good. A couple weeks ago I wore a 24hr holter monitor because I was feeling like I was missing a breath or my heart was skipping! It is an odd sensation. The results were 49pvc and nothing else. Doctor told me that was great and normal! about a week went by and my mind got to running in overdrive. I went back and was put on a 30 day heartrack smart wireless monitor that comes with a cell phone. I worn it for about a week with no problems. I frequently experience dizziness and palpitations some times! My doctor says its all in my head and that I am fine. Today, a guy at work broke down, so I pushed his car on flat ground for about 200 feet by myself with him steering! It was a full size jeep. When I was done I was so out of breath, dizzy, heart beating hard an fast and I thought I felt a palpitation or two! Is this normal? My monitor has an auto trigger and a manual record button. I pushed it and sent a few readings through to the 24/7 center. They called me about 5 minutes later and asked if I was ok and why I was sending so many manual reads! I told them I was exercising heavily! Do my symptoms sound normal? I'm afraid my heart will just give out! I've got it in my head that my heart is bad and that's why I'm always dizzy! Please help!

PVC's are normal in an othrwise healthy...everyone gets them but some key in on them...your moniter test was normal...worry about something else your heart is fine...if you are not exercising daily do so..if you smoke QUIT !

The less risk factors you have the better chance you have of seeing your girl get married ! 4 pvc's is NOTHING !

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  Congratulations on the new baby which makes me wonder if you are getting enough sleep?  The little ones seem to like the middle of the night for their play time.

I am also wondering if you may be having anxiety attacks which are causing your sx?  I am not a Dr. however, your tests seem to be OK.

Worry about chest pain and possible heart/breathing problem maybe driving your anxiety, which in turns drives the chest pain and heart/breathing problem. Vicious cycle, it is.

The next time you start to feel anxious, SOB or worrying about your heart you may want to try the following:

Three-Part Breath

Find a place where it's quiet.

Sit in a straight back chair with both feet on the floor or lie on the floor with a straight spine.

Begin inhaling by expanding the abdomen (let it inflate like a balloon), then move the breath into your rib cage and, finally, all the way into your upper chest.

Exhale by reversing this action; begin at your collarbones and exhale down through your rib cage and into your abdomen. Contract your abdominal muscles as you finish exhaling.

You might find it helpful to lightly place your right hand on your abdomen and your left hand on your rib cage to help direct the breath on its journey.

Begin by practicing for one minute and then gradually lengthen the practice to five minutes.

This technique helps to eliminate shallow chest breathing and encourages full exhalation and inhalation.

I wish you peace,

Kitt

Wow I'm completely amazed in how similar this story is to mine .
I'm 23 and have had all the same exact symptoms.
Went through several tests; echo, stress test, holter, 10 Ekgs.
And I was diagnosed with 49 pacs and 1 rare PVC . Cardiologist said it is completely benign and something I shouldn't be worried about but still it scares me. Exercising has nothing to do with it as I'm a natural body builder and have always kept myself in shape.
I was later diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety but still don't feel satisfied so I totally know where you're coming from. I wish this would just end soon.
I've tried beta blockers, both metropolol and coreg both only made me feel sluggish and felt so many side effects.
Let me know how you're feeling now

I'm getting by! Thanks for all the replies! I have two more weeks of wearing this monitor! It's driving me nuts! I have GAD, so, if its not one thing I worry about, it's another! Right now ive spent the last four days obsessing about sudden cardiac death and long qt count on EKG (which i dont have)! I'm totally out of control sometimes just looking for that QUICK fix that only leads to more turmoil!

My bro has anxiety attacks feeling like a heart attack when resting...? And cannot go places he used to....like the airport...too anxious for himself...but the dizziness...by guess is from your bp meds...what is slightly elevated...? You seems so young to be on those meds already....? if nearing 200/100 then worry....if not...maybe your doc just enjoys the kickback from the pharmaceuticals he gets from your drugs...3 drugs...and only 27 yrs old...? odd...you are in the prime of your life....I am no doc...but what would happen if you didn't take those awful drugs... The side effects are worse than the disease itself sometimes....check it out....research it yourself...never trust a doctor...don't trust me...trust yourself only...with your health....they are practicing medicine with kickbacks from pharmaceuticals...your unhealthy state keeps them making money....think about it....
