In most cases, it is strongly recommended that all heart patients receive a flu shot, unless otherwise contraindicated - please check with your Dr.!

Indonesia's first human bird flu case, coupled with more birds dying elsewhere including Russia, are signs a long-dreaded global influenza pandemic may be approaching, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Friday.

Health officials fear the virus will mutate and mix with human influenza, creating a deadly pandemic strain that becomes easily transmissible and could kill millions of people."

How many of you get Flu shots?  I get mine every year - I just don't want to take a chance, especially due to having asthma. Have you also had a pneumonia shot?  My Dr. recommends that I have one every 5 years.

Are you current on yours?

Hugs, Teri tongue

I received my first one last year. My primary physician and my cardiologist have not suggested I have the pnuemonia shot and I'm wondering why. It seems like that would be vital for many of us to have since that type of pnuemonia can be so deadly.

Kathy, I'd ask about that - they may have their reasons, or maybe they simply forgot to ask you? I would think that's important with your health issues!

Big Hugs, Teri :)
