How many of you have had a Heart Attack already?  How many of you are at risk for one right now?!

The following site offers information on the following... tongue

Heart Attacks, Heart Attack Warning Signs, Surviving a Heart Attack, Testing for a Heart Attack, Reducing Heart Attack Risk, and Heart Disease and Medications.

"Act In Time!  National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute"

This is an excellent link. I get a newsletter from the Heart, Lung and Blood Institute on a daily basis. Good site I think! Yes, I've had a heart attack and at great risk to have another because I am overweight, do not have my diabetis under control, obviously not eating well, and not exercising like i need to. I know the emotional relationship to food, but I still can't get on track and stay there. I did make the gym once this week which I promised you I'd do.

Yes, I had a Heart Attack as well in 1998 and it scared me so badly that since then, I've quit smoking, changed my diet completely around and have tried to exercise on treadmills and stationary bikes, but of late, with other problems going on, it hasn't been possible.  Though I still try to do as much as I can!

I had one early last year (My story is in my "Introducing myself" post) and had none of the things listed on this site in the "Reducing Heart Attack Risk" area..I`ve tried to exercise more but feel so tired all the time..I feel I could lay down and go to sleep almost any moment of the day..I just checked my BP with my wrist monitor and it was 84/50..Thanks for the nice link Teri..I have some nice ones I`ll share but they are on another screen name than I am on now

Yes indeedy. One in 1977 during a cath. A 'silent' heart attack, which I now call a 'stupid' heart attack in 2003 (because I should have known/denial/disbelief etc) and ~maybe~ one in January - it was either mine or the other patient whose records were mixed up with mine. eyes Can they be shared? lol! Somehow I got her diagnosis (GERD), but her heart attack shows up on my EKG. It was recently interpreted by the cardio as a 'likely infarct'.
And I always thought medical science was more clear than this.

Hi again! tongue   I actually had no symptoms, or rather, my symptoms were so vague and with asthma, my shortness of breath that I experienced was nothing unusual.  I had no pain anywhere.  That's what is scary for many of us.  Now I pay more attention to things that are 'different' with my body from the normal daily aches and pains.
