Hi everyone I am mainly in the Anxiety forum but lately have been having some weird chest things going on. My heart ratr resting is normally around 75-80 but sometimes it has been getting up to like 110. I have had some palpitations also but the heart rate always goes back down eventually. I can tell my heart rate goes up once i stsart any activity even just walking. I have had countless EKG's a Stress Echo, Blood Work, Chest X ray, 24 HR holter monitor, could I have something thats just not showing up on here or is that a pretty good group of tests to rule anything out. everything has come back normal. I have not seen a cardio just my normal Dr. I do have panic disorder and General Anxiety.

Thanks!
Kyle

Hello Kyle,

The best way to rule  out chest pain caused from your heart is to talk to your doctor. If your heart is in good health and everything checks out, it's extremely rare to have any heart condition. While chest pains associated with anxiety attacks can occur at any age, they're more common at ages when coronary disease is rare, between the ages of 20 and 40. Chances are if you do not have a history of heart problems, your chest pain in not heart related.

Stress and palpitations are so common, and almost always benign. That said, I can't tell you specifically what is going on, only your Dr. can do that, so if this continues, make an appointment with a cardiologist for further testing.  For now, let's assume that you are just experiencing one of the symptoms of  anxiety. Caffeine, stress, lack of sleep, certain foods, ETC...have all been known to bring on the palpitations.  Try to avoid these as much as possible.

I wish you well and keep on talking with us as we are here to help you.

Kindly,

Kitt
