I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and was a critical care\ICU RN. I say this only to give the reader a background of my experience with interpretation of EKG. I am in extremely good shape and run triathlons etc. However, I started having pvc's about 6 months ago and they have progressively gotten worse over the past year to the point that I was having 20-30 per minute on average. I was a hard core coffee drinker (about 3-6 cups per day). After getting pvc's frequently, I decided to cut back and even tried quitting altogether. I would quit for 2 or 3 days and the symptoms would get worse... sometimes much worse, so I would start drinking coffee again. However, I finally made it past the 4 day mark, and have not had a single pvc. I know this is purely anecdotal but I hope it helps some of you out there struggling with the same thing.

Hi there!
Glad your having relief from your PVC's!
Unfortunately for me I still get tons of PVC's even though i don't have any caffiene at all, not even chocolate!
I get them all day every day and I've lost count of how many things I've cut down on just to see if it makes a difference but they remain the same!!
Actually one thing that did slightly help was a non essential amino acid called Taurine! When i was taking that i got some relief!
Do you find having that many PVC's is extremely uncomfortable?
Anyway hope your PVC's stay away!!

Take care! :-)

I am a CCRN/Manager of Emergency Services however, we do leave our titles at the door here.
Thanks for sharing what worked for you in reducing your PVCs.  It takes a lot of willpower to give up a drink that you enjoy but in your case it certainly was a cure for those pesky PVCs,
I wish you well in your career and drop in anytime if you have some heart related information as this is the place people come to talk to each other about their issues and concerns.
