Hello. I'm new to this forum, but normally post in the Ostomies forum.

about a month ago, my left arm started to become a bit sore, but there wasn't any pain. It was only when I sort of squuezed it that I'd feel some pain (below the shoulder and above the elbow). Since I was washing this thick mat daily and squeezing the water out from it, I thought I just had some straining in my muscles.

But then, I gradually started to have chest pain in the middle but more towards the left. It would happen like once a day but only last for about 10 seconds or so. This went on for about a week.

Then, the chest pain would occur 2-3 times a day and it would happen in the same place but then, sometimes the pain would be on the right side as well, but mainly in the middle. Then, I noticed that my third and fourth toes on the left side were numb. It's just numb and there is no pain.

The thing is, I feel totally fine. It's not like I'm in so much pain and I do my daily routine work. I just notice that everything seems to be on the left side, though. And just this past 4-5 days, I've been feeling numbness in my left arm and it seems like it gets numb the more I use it, but when I don't use it, it seems to go back just fine, although I can still feel a bit of numbness. It's not bad, though.

There is no exact time or any time when I get the chest pain. It just happens randomly throughout the day for a few seconds. Sometimes it happens when I first take in food. At other times, it happens when I'm watching TV or cleaning or even laying down. Sometimes it extends to my back (hard to describe) almost like the pain goes through my chest? Hard to explain...

This past 2-3 days, I've gotten a bit nauseous during the middle of the night and very early morning around 4 am while I'm still in bed, but that also only lasts for about 5 minutes and goes away.

At times, there's pain directly under my left breast - kind of like a thump, thump kind of pain that also doesn't last long.

I'm planning to see my GI doctor on Monday to see if he can refer me to another physician, but I'm just wondering if these kinds of symptoms are heart-related? Does it sound like a nerve is pinched?

Forgot to add that I did have blood work done at the end of January or beginning of February. I forget. I also had a CT scan done from shoulder down to test for something else in the way beginning of February.

If I were to have had any heart-related issues, wouldn't it had have appeared on that CT scan or no? I just can't see anything major happening within 2 months time, or am I mistaken?

penny,

I am sorry about the multiple issues you are having.  I could only guess at what is going on with you  and what you need is a medical screening exam.

It's best to have a Dr. make the assessment.

I will be watching for an update from you after your Drs. appointment.

Kindly,

Kitt

Thanks for getting back to me, stkitt.

I ended up going to the ER last night and they did an electrocardiogram(?) and they found nothing wrong so they sent me home.

I've had chest pain all day long today from about 8 am to now 4:30 pm. It was constant and it seems to have stopped now....strange....now the right side of my hand and arm are numb but my left seems to be doing fine today. It's so bizarre.

I can't see it being a GI issue but I will see my gastro doctor tomorrow just in case.

Has anybody had constant chest pain on the left side? It feels like it extends to my back but it has stopped now. So very strange...
