Hi Everyone!

I had another test today to check my EF (ejection fraction), by using the "First Pass Test". This was a first for me. Very easy and simple. They injected something to light the way. :) and I stood (still) on a treadmill while they took pics of my heart! I'm hoping for some good news with this, but won't know the results til the first week of Sept. I'll keep you posted.

Hey all!!!

What a week.  School started Wednesday.  I am so tired!  redface ZZZzzzZZZzzz

My leg is starting to ache...where I had the incisions for the ablations and ep study.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I've been on my feet all day for the past three days.  Who knows.  It's now been exactly four weeks since my last ablation.  Yay!  I am happy about that.  I hope some of the post procedure symptoms will be going away soon.  Just wish my leg didn't hurt so much!

ttfn!

Hi Lil! :)

It's good to see you here! Sorry to hear about your leg still bothering you, if it continues I would say something to your Dr. I hope it was just from starting back up with the pacing the floors! :)

Take care!!

hi all,

boy lots of florida folks!  i just told my uncle today to sell the B&B and pensacola and come to the shores of texas, where we might have some problems on occasion, but it seems much rarer than florida.  poor ole florida, seems to be having increasingly hard times.  especially the recovery.

by the way, my little twig is still hanging in there, barely.  we don't want to be cruel, but he seems happy when darren is around, and he is not in pain.  it's mostly the awkwardness of having to take him out every 2-3 hours to hope for no accidents.  poor little guy.

re leg pain - who said that?  lil?  anyway, i had some with this last heart cath and my whole right leg is sorta numb, particularly the thigh.  i called the cardioboy and he said how common that was and expected that would start to clear up soonish but to call him if it didn't.  i guess that's common.  he said there are lots of nerves there that can get "nicked" during the process, but that they should recover.

Just a little note here...in all my caths, each one a bit different, depending on the Dr. I don't recall being in that much pain a month afterwards with any of mine. So Libby, you are probably correct (or your cardio guy is :) ) re nerves and whatnot...sometimes infection can be a problem too. So Lil, don't take any chances. If it's red, swollen, warm to the touch, or any drainage at all at this point in time, please get it looked at! :)

I hate to say this but I haven't even looked at the incision site on my leg...just knew it was hurting.  Boy, you can tell my head is elsewhere!  I do hope it's hurting bc of how much standing and walking I'm doing at school.  It was sore for a couple days post procedure and then didn't hurt at all until this week.  I'll just keep an eye on it.

hey,

not feeling any better.  hubby actually caught me wincing today so i told him about the pain i was having.  i've been keeping an ice pack on it all day...numbs it.  :)  Hurts whenever i stand up and start moving around though.  i guess if it keeps up, i'll be going to the doc about it.  i'm gonna try to give it another week though.

oh...i did look at it.  it's still got the two purple spots but nothing surrounding it.  i can still feel the knots there too.  it looks like it did a month ago just without the bruises.

Me?  not listen to you?  when has that ever happened?  tongue I'll give it some more time.  I go see my ep at the end of Sept so I'll mention it then at the very latest is it's still hurting then.  Heck, it took me three months of heart rates over 180 to go see my pcp!  No...I'm not stubborn.  lol

Well, I've had an eventful few days. While all the news media was positioned in Fort Lauderdale and points north, this hurricane took a U-turn and came down to Miami and sucker-punched us, and we were all caught with our pants down! Now that my power's back on, I'm fine - just a whole lot of property damage, including a gigantic ficus tree sitting atop my carport; I narrowly missed losing my van, and my fences are down, along with 30-40% of the avocado trees, and a flood (now receded) including a flood in my office thanks to a roof leak. In four short hours we received the annual rainfall of the state of Arizona - ours just came horizontally - all 20 inches driven by 75-90 mph winds. It wasn't all bad - I took the most refreshing shower of my life yesterday outside in a rainstorm (my water was off too) - all the downed trees gave my back yard total privacy, and my dogs had the thrill of getting to eat every single thing in the refrigerator before it spoiled. Everyone at the power company has reached God-status for restoring my power in such a short time (36 hours), because there are 500,000 here still without. I'm thinking of the people who are now in the path of Katrina - it will be so much worse for them.
hugs to all,
Oona

hey lil,

my leg has been hurting me too, although there is nothing swollen or discolored around there, the area has been very numb and sore.  i called my cardio guy and he said that was pretty normal for sometimes even a few months after the procedure.  but i agree with teri, if it still hurts monday, it just can't hurt to call and ask and make sure they feel it's OK.

your fellow leg hurter, in texas!
