Hello, I am 29 years old and have been having chest pain for a little more than a year. I have had numerous EKGs at my primary care doctor and all was ok. After the pain did not go away he referred me to a cardiologist who had me do a Doppler echo and stress test. Both came back ok. I still have pain in my chest most times it feels like it is a ache about an inch and a half to the outside of the nipple. Almost in the armpit area. It comes and goes through out the day and sometimes I find myself rubbing the area. I am overweight (6'2 320lbs) and have high blood pressure. I currently take 10mg of lisinopril a day. I also have seen a gastro dr but he ran no tests and told me I was likely having heartburn and advised me to take Zantac when needed. What could be causing this pain? Anyone have similar symptoms?

Here is a link with some information on Non-Cardiac causes of chest pain.

I think it may answer some of your questions. Often, what we consider pain is more of a sensation, but we are still cautious about the cause of it. You did the right thing by seeking the advice of your Primary Care Doctor and a Cardiologist.

If the pain worsens or if new symptoms develop, make sure to contact your doctor, but you should be somewhat comforted by being cleared, by your doctor, of something more serious.

Be well.

Hello,

You might ask your GI if he could order an Upper GI to determine what is causing your discomfort sad I have several types of chest pain, and I also have a large Hiatal Hernia, resulting in GERD, which can cause me chest discomfort. Just a thought. I hope your Doctor can find something to take, you mentioned Zantac, I used to take that.
Good Luck with your Doctor.

Best to you :-)
