I am just wondering if anybody has experienced this. Forlike last 20 hours I have been getting these sharp pains lasting like a second or two and going away. It has been persistently coming from every few seconds to fewmins and last only like sec on my left chest side. Went to ER, they did ecg and chest xray and said everything.is fine its not heart related but couldnt tell me what it was. Im 25 years old, had no injury, pain isnt affected by movement or breathing, so what else can it be if not heart, lung and ribs? Thanks. I am suffering from some anxiety issues but I do not believe this instance is related to anxiety though. Thanks

This may help you visualize what's in there and why pains can be challenging to diagnose.

patients.gi.org/topics/non-cardiac-chest-pain/

Click on the Overview and Symptoms links near the top, they open additional sections, one showing how crowded it is in there.

You may want to consult with your family doctor, he/she can look over the E.R. results and advise you if additional tests may be advised, and I don't necessarily mean heart related, your doctor may be able to help you find the cause.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I will look into getting appointment with family doctor. It seems to go away if I take nsaids but come back later at random, so Im thinking maybe inflammation related or its heart related since nsaids thin the blood so if its giving me temporary relief it may be blockage somewhere to heart?

Although I think it prudent to see your doctor, I'd be surprised if it was your heart, I don't think that intermittent stabbing pains are usually characteristic of angina or ischemia.

Below is an older HealingWell thread on such pains. Read through it, I think it may help you to see you're not alone.
