Is there any relationship between the occasional heart flutters and the occasional body tics/flutters? Just curious. Sometimes it feels like the same thing, just in a different spot in the body. I get both, though the body tics/flutters (felt in legs, arm, wherever) are much more comfortable than the heart flutters.

I don't believe there is a relation, but one never knows. The body tics you describe are known as fasciculations. Most of the causes of fasciculations are benign. It seems like stress can be a big factor in fasciculations and heart flutters as well (I'm assuming it's PVCs or PACs you're talking about). Stimulants, such as caffeine, may play a factor in both.

Though, ultimately, the actual cause of fasciculations and heart flutters is not likely to be directly related, certainly they seem to have certain triggering events in common.

If you have not been evaluated for the heart flutters, it's best to consult a doctor. If the fasciculations bother you, mention them to your family doctor.

welcome to the forum, I agree with JungRulz. If you are in distress over the heart flutters and tics - you might want to get checked out by your doctor. I used to get tics all the time, especially my eyelids. Used to drive me crazy. But not as crazy as PVCs. they really drive me up the wall. I hate getting stuck in a long travel traffic jam with them. "Talk about wanting to jump out of your seat"! Anyway, welcome.

I'm so glad I found this post because I've been wondering about this for a while... I get muscle spasms everywhere too. They kind of feel like bubbles or things crawling under my skin. In my case the spasms seem to be related to increased amounts of intestinal gas (strange right?). I tend to get more PVCs/PACs (feel like flutters/thumps) when I have these spasms. I didn't have heart palpitations before I started getting spasms, so I definitely think that there is some relationship between the two.
