Here is my story... 3 and a half years ago I was having some chest pain. I didn't think much of it, thought maybe it was gas. After about a week of this, I stood up and almost fainted. I went to the DR and he took my pulse. He was concerned because it was very low, in the low 40's. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life, so the low pulse wasn't due to being in incredible athletic shape. I was sent to the hospital where they did all the tests: ekg's, echo, stress test, blood work, and they couldnt find anything, just that my pulse was very low (got as low as 31 during sleep). After five days I was released without a diagnosis. This was all at the age of 19. Now I'm 22 and not a day goes by where I don't feel some type of heart symptom. I get chest pain, left arm pain, jaw pain, shortness of breathe, you name it. Over these past three years I've been through many routes. First there was the Acid Reflux route, but that didn't explain my arm pain. Then there was the anxiety route, but my therapists didn't seem to think it was anxiety. I'm not an anxious person. The only thing that gets me anxious is all of these heart things. I occasionally take xanax when the pain gets really bad and i think I'm about to panic, but it only gets to that point maybe two times a week. No medicine really helps the pain, except aspirin, which just adds to my worry that this is all heart related. As i type this my left arm is killing and it just worries me so much. Most of the pain I feel is sharp, which I guess is a good sign, because cardiac pain usually isnt sharp according to my doctors. I've been checked out for lungs and everything looks good. I was at my cardiologist just a couple of months ago. He put me on a holtor and did blood work, and said I have a "sensitive" heart, and a low resting HR, but it's nothing to worry about. He wanted me to do a stress echo just to put my mind at ease, but my insurance wouldnt cover it, so i did a regular stress test, which he said looked good. I'm worried that if I don't get a more conclusive test like a stress echo or angiogram, they could be missing something. The problem is, no doctor is gonna give me an angiogram at my age, even if it is the only thing that will really put my mind at ease. I'm so sick and tired of this. If anyone has any suggestions please help me. I still have a very low HR but it doesn't make me dizzy or anything, but I get pain in my chest and left arm every day. I just don't know what to do at this point. Thanks everybody
