So I'm schedueld next week for an ablation of my SVT on Thursday! I'm terrified to say the least at getting it done. My main issue with getting the ablation is that my SVT is only brought on with exercise, I'll feel a PAC then my HR will take off. I've been dealing with this off and on since I was 20, at that time I didn't know what it was. I would just bare down and vagal myself out of it and keep going. It seemed to go away for a few years and this year came back. I was wearing a holter monitor and my hr got up to 260bpm, needless to say that got me a visit to a cardiologist/EP specialist. He basically said I can take meds the rest of my life that might not help or get an ablation. Neither option sounded good but I said I'd rather get rid of it now, since I want to start a family soon and I want to be able to run again without having my PACs worry me of sending me into SVT. I've been researching artilces and been on many websites concerning the procedure, my main concern is that at rest my heart beats fine and I hate the idea of having constat PACs/PVCs afterwards. I've read some ppl are a year out and still have them pretty badly. The anxiety of that just makes me not want to do the procedure and try medications. My other concern is since mine hasn't been very frequent, 1-3x a year, will they be able to put me into SVT? Anyone have opioions? confused
