7 months ago I had a viral respiratory infection of some sort, taught multiple classes at the gym (high-intensity- during this illness) I taught a class on day 2 and felt really bad afterwards and on day 3 I had a fever (no classes). I am a super healthy person (or was) prior to this illness. I am sure I have Pericarditis based on all the things I have read and how this all came about, but tests have shown nothing conclusive. I just took about 6 weeks off from all exercise again besides walking and only 3 weeks back from vacation and I did a lot of exercise this past week and my chest feelings are back.
I have had:
Pulmonary Function Test
CT Chest no contrast
5 panels of blood early on and 8 panels of blood (metabolic panel, thyroid tests, sed rate etc, CPK etc)
treadmill stress test -didn't think I needed- but that was all Cardiologist would order-which of course I did great on
and FINALLY-at the end of August - CARDIAC MRI with contrast
all my tests have shown nothing significant-NOTHING! my heart aches and the discomfort goes into my back between my shoulder blades. Notice it more when taking deep breaths too. While I was on vacation and not exercising was feeling pretty good, last week I did the most exercise I have done in 7 long months of this ongoing situation. Now I am back to chest discomfort at a more noticeable level. I notice my heartbeat when I lay flat too in particular. I am not in a huge amount of pain or discomfort, more of an annoyance than anything. Like I said, I am very healthy and fortunately have no other health issues and don't take meds for anything. So I just wonder if my case is mild and it's just not showing up...??
Otherwise I feel perfectly fine if you cut out the center of my chest. I have been saying that for months now.
Anyone experience anything like that or heard of inflammation not really showing up on tests?
Basically the Cardiology people dismissed me after the stress test and my regular Dr. who seems to have no clue ordered my MRI because I insisted. I was told by the Pulmonologist maybe I do have Pericarditis early on in this after going for a second opinion and he was the only Dr. who took a really thorough history. I took meds (anti inflammatories and Prilosec to protect stomach) that made my BP go up and eventually gave me heart palpitations and I also took 3 months off of physical activity completely. Frustrated now because I have symptoms and am not under a Drs care at all. I feel sure that is what is going on.
Thanks for any input you might have.
