I am a 45 yr old female non-smoker/non-drinker. about
5 months ago I ended up in hospital with a heartrate of 245 bpm. Hospital tried meds but ended up giving me a cardioversion within a hour of my arrival.
I was told it is Atrial Fibrilliation ( plus the odd ectopic beats). I was given Bisoprolol 5 mgs to take daily. I had a 24 Holter ( clear aside from the AF and EB) echocardiogram - clear and angiogram - clear.
My cardiologist suggested the angiogram because of chest pain episodes I get when I am not in AFib. I have also been given Flecainide in the case the Afib episode goes on longer than a few hours.
The cardiologist said there was no need for an ablation because there are no other cardiac concerns.
Aside from the Afib episodes, which seem to happen at random and when do silly things like carry shopping/ brisk walks/do laundry/they especially happen when I sleep, I am getting chest pains.
These episodes seem unrelated to the Afib. The pain is in my upper back (left side towards the middle) at two/three minute intervals lasting about
30 seconds. Lasting in total about
10 mins. This has happened 4 times since I ended up in hospital. Always in the morning and never related to exercise or food. The first time I thought I was having a heart attack. That is how new and different it felt. I have convinced myself it must be some sort of muscular or heartburn thing because all the above tests were clear.
Does this ring a bell with anyone else?
